as usual

Finished to paint Allie and basically stayed mad about it for a whole day. The varnish i bought reacted with the paint and completly wrinkled it. But at least my bicycle is in the streets again.

I finished to solder braze my smol bicycle, now i scavenge few parts. Need a deep clean and a paint. I might ask around for a powder coating. I think i want it yellow.

Bought a new rear wheel for Lil B and hangout with my trusty Raligh Twenty. Installed the rear panier again.

train rides & friends & bike talk

I had a great moment seeing my friends. I met so many people i almost forgot to charge up my social batteries. I learned to use a sewing machine and that was awesome, sew myself a neat fanny pack. Next ride will be to see all the beautiful people at the Amateur Thing Building Fest. I'll go there with Allie i think because i was supposed last year to bring her there.

I need to find a solution to get some camping stuff with me, Allie only have a smolish randonneur front rack, and if i go with her she need her 5 speed freewheel back.

The fact is, i don't have much choice of a bicycle.
Lil B has a rear rack, with a panier, but currently in simple speed I'll not ride the whole part but i need to do a nice 35km and, fine for me but it'll be cool to have a little range and maybe a rear rack too.
Wit has range and is standard enough to make it a fast and superb ride but yes, he doesn't have a rack. Nor the wheels to handle more load (other than me with a bag haha).

searching for some light

Also along side seeing my friends, i took time to consolidate few habits. I now rely a lot on the local library to get some entertainment. Like searching for cultural recommandations in newspaper and magazines. Of course i don't take everything up just like that. But i saw a recommandation for some Arte documentary that seems nice, i wrote that down on my notebook, with some detail about it in case if i don't find it. And check it later in appropriate time.

Since local library also have a some of CDs i can borrow. I even took a fat book called "1000 album to listen" but sometimes i just wanna listen stuff that didn't make it to that book. I obviously take recommandations and check if my local library have those

Ah! Little update on the Hifi setup, i need to locate why when it gets warms left channel kinda fade away out my amp and now i have a proper CD player, no more Playstation 2 for that (and no more overheating because of video projector during the day)

Of course some of those ended on my ipod.

Also i was asking myself if i should keep my ipods. i love them a lot but both are not very compatible with the current toolset to handeling ipods on linux. And i'm not sure to have the required skills to help.

FreeCAD Shenaningans

Thats not a secret if you follow my socials, i delved deeper in freeCAD and Ondsel. I'm super impatient about the FreeCAD newest version because i really like Ondsel but i'm not sure i'll ever be a customer. Making that de-facto useless to use it i think? I managed to overcome all road blocks in front of me. And it wasn't a easy job! I can't wait about the next FreeCAD meetup at my local community lab so i could share what i learned.

In other news; i think about taking commissions, designing commissions. Maybe people out there might be interested into that kind of service. I don't know. I thought about that because i still need to learn to be fast and precise. So, of course no high engineered stuff. Also it could be lil income.

where is the steep hill?

We worked thru.

Finally changed OS! I was on regular Linux Mint and now i'm on LMDE! The awesome Linux Mint version that uses Debian sources instead of Ubuntu! And its been great. I installed all my stuff and i don't use a lot on laptop, i only need Firefox, Element, Dino, Emacs and little free and open source games (i always get Battle For Wesnoth but i went for Flare and FreeOrion this time). I just think this is neat! It doesn't feel like Debian stable and yet it is???

Some part of me still want to get back on bleeding edge Debian Sid with openbox. With Tilda, and a crusty bar. Y'know the real life. Also a bit sorry i didn't do much of HTML, and even forgot to publish some roulette page

More on that?

September is alreday here, Do you still remember?
