Part 1; Blackout

Mistakes will be made - and it's ok. I choose to learn from it. I left my room for job searching in a new city and i did shutdown my network switch without getting aware of it. The risk of thunderstorm was high, a lot of my infrastructure my network switch share the same power strip as my computer/printer/screens and the network switch. I just forgot about the switch. So here we are.

As my server was offline i realized the limitation of selfhosting. I should protect the power adapters of my server and power switch in case something goes wrong. my server hosts my matrix server and account, my online drives, my calibre library and more. Getting all of it offline is kinda annoying.

Anyway, it's ok. it's the life. I'll get home someday and fix everything.

Part 2; how many bicycle do you need?

Yes, i'm away and my folding bike project is moving really slowly so i didn't took any bicycle with me. AND ITS HORRIBLE, I HATE BEING A PEDESTRIAN.
Here's a list of things i don't like as pedestrian

  1. fast bicycles on the side walk there's good infrastructure for them (adults, pedalin' fast)
  2. people that dont share the side walks with other pedestrians subgenre folks (bicycle walkers, rollerskaters, actual skaters, kids on scooters or bicycles
  3. being a slow walker. I don't consider myself a slow walker, i manage my efforts. i walk harder than faster. I'm slow on flats and relatively fast on hills

The desire to own a new bike because i'm away is strong but i redirect this energy on my folding bike project (or find a cool foldie). Maybe in another post i show y'all some design i've made for my folding bike

the correct number of bicycle is n+1, i have 2 so i need one more until the next time i ask myself the question.

Part 3; Progress so far

Besides talking about bicycles, DIY stuff, there's some days i talk about rollerskating activities on Mastodon. And so far so good. I bought a new pair of skates. I visited a sports collective shop and found an almost new pair of Oxelo MF500 for only 15€! A really good deal

I ride on Oxelo MF500, i find it really good, safe and fun. Oxelo is a Decathlon's brand for skates, scooter and roller stuff. The MF500 is a freeskate/freeride hardshell rollerblades. I also ride on Oxelo Quad 5, a flat, derby-ish rollerskate.

I really like rollerskating so far and my objective is to be able to ride freely outside, going from A to B all in rollerskate. So far i know to ride on flats, and doing manuals. i need to train my stops more but i know to do Plow stops and T-stops.

Bonus

Alright that's it folks. that was the offline post. and update. i removed the RSS stuff. maybe it'll return in a better form or not.
