3D spaces
Lately i dabbled a lot with FreeCAD even made a 3part rent against it and Blender which i knew a little 6 years ago. I've finished the designing phases for both of my keyboard projects (not updated to page yet).
Those two software are cool so far. I found FreeCAD much harder than Blender. They both have their own logic and they both made for their own domains. FreeCAD is a parametric design software made for mechanical engineering, architecture and such. Blender is a 3D modeling software aimed for artist, 3D modelling, Animation
I learn FreeCAD to have one more arrow in my quiver of skills. I'm not stopping myself to keyboard projects i want to try some stuff for 3D printing.
However Blender is more personnal. The one job i wanted so badly to do required some Art 3D Modelling. I missed my cue and never touched it again of sadness and anger. So it's more a recover method from the pain caused by the sadness and anger.
More projects
I still got my bicycle project, the one that will be cut in half. And to learn soldering. I already kinda know how to do 'stick' soldering. Speaking of which i think it's not the best way to do it but -fuck it i'm doing it for the fun.
On the other hand i really want to fix my Mom's sewing machine. For learning how to use it and sewing some fabric together and maybe make clothes along the learning path.
My favourite Community Bike Collective is next to a Community Woodworking Workshop, i also thought about some woodworking skills.
Till When?
So i was asked when and where i'll stop myself from this behavior. Called that 'skill hopping' (like the grasshopper jumping). I do not considering like skills hopping mostly because i try to not forgotting those. Yeah i try to diversify my skills (intended with the sewing machine thing) but i don't think it's bad per se to diversify my competences fields
Among the distractions i do for keep myself busy a lot of them could be useful skills for job-life-type-of-skills. Unemployement is only fun if you actually learn/do something though the days. Learning is fun, using what you've studied is cool, living out of it and getting more should be a personal goal.
That's why i giving much of my time to tools like KiCad, FreeCAD, Blender and more. It's not because they're fun. It's also because they're professional grade software. Knowing how to repair a bicycle is a useful skill.
That's it folx, i said what i want to say today.
